Anadolu Sigorta champions sustainability and sailing spirit at Maximiles Black The Bodrum Cup, uniting passion with purpose.

Celebrating its 8th year as the Platinum Sponsor, Anadolu Sigorta once again brought waves of excitement to the Aegean coast during the 37th Maximiles Black The Bodrum Cup. The event, held between October 20 and 25, transformed Bodrum’s legendary turquoise bays into a stage for innovation, solidarity, and a love for the sea. More than 100 boats and approximately 1,500 competitors participated, turning the bay into a spectacular scene of sails and sportsmanship.
Hosted under the inspiring theme “For Generations”, this year’s competition focused on passing down traditional maritime culture while emphasizing the protection of marine ecosystems. The addition of Iasos to the route symbolized friendship and community spirit, while the newly established Race Center at Yalıkavak Marina invited both local spectators and global sailing fans to share in the thrill of the race.
At the Ağanlar Shipyard awards ceremony, Anadolu Sigorta’s long-standing partnership was honored with a plaque recognizing the company as “Our Sponsor for 8 Years.” Representing the company, Berna Semiz Ergüntan, Corporate Communications and Sustainability Coordinator, expressed pride in the continued collaboration. During the same event, General Manager Mehmet Tuğtan presented the ‘Gulet General Classification 2 and Gulet A 2nd Place Award’ to the STS Bodrum team, while Chair of the Board Füsun Tümsavaş awarded the ‘37th Year Special Cup Champion Mozaik A1 and Mozaik General Classification 2nd Place Award’ to the Mozaik team.
Adding another layer of excitement, Anadolu Sigorta’s own employees joined the competition for the first time with their dedicated Anadolu Sigorta Sailing Team, showcasing internal unity and enthusiasm for the sea.
Anadolu Sigorta General Manager Z. Mehmet Tuğtan reflected on the significance of the event, noting how it beautifully interwove competition with respect for nature and sustainability. He remarked that the company’s eight-year sponsorship aligns with Anadolu Sigorta’s sustainable vision and commitment to the blue economy. Tuğtan highlighted, “The Bodrum Cup does not merely celebrate sailing—it strengthens intergenerational ties, nurtures a culture of respect for the sea, and cultivates awareness around environmental sustainability.”
He also emphasized that in the company’s centennial year, the debut of the Anadolu Sigorta Sailing Team represented the spirit of collaboration and perseverance rooted in the company’s ‘No Losing’ philosophy. Their participation proved how teamwork and dedication can drive collective success, both on land and at sea.
Throughout its 100-year history, Anadolu Sigorta has played a leadership role in the watercraft insurance sector, extending protection to tens of thousands of vessels while championing marine conservation. Its ongoing sponsorship of the Bodrum Cup underscores a firm belief that sustainability and maritime heritage can advance hand in hand. By fostering awareness of the blue economy and encouraging responsible navigation, Anadolu Sigorta remains devoted to ensuring that the beauty and vitality of the seas endure for future generations.
